Hamilton Township, NJ : Teen seriously injured in a car crash in Atlantic County on Saturday morning, April 18, 2015

A teenager from Galloway was badly hurt in a car accident in Hamilton Township, Atlantic County on Saturday morning.

Police say they responded to a crash on Cologne Avenue near Holly Street at 7:15 a.m. A car had run off the road, striking several trees before coming to a stop. The driver was trapped inside and had to be extricated by first responders.

The Laureldale and Cologne fire departments responded, as well as the Hamilton Rescue Squad and EMTs from AtlantiCare Paramedics.

The driver, a 17-year-old whose name was not released, was flown to Atlantic City Medical Center with serious injuries. Police did not disclose further information about the driver's condition on Sunday, but said that the driver was wearing a seatbelt. No summonses have been issued.

Hamilton police are investigating the incident.
