Austin, TX : Texas motorcycle officer dies after funeral procession crash on Sunday, 4th September 2016

A Texas motorcycle officer and former Marine hit by a driver during a funeral procession last week has died. The Austin Police Department announced Sunday that officer Amir Abdul-Khaliq had succumbed to his injuries after being in critical condition for three days.

The driver, 51-year-old Ana Prado, was cited for failing to yield to an emergency vehicle. Police Chief Art Acevedo may push for additional charges against Prado now that the 17-year-veteran officer died. Abdul-Khaliq leaves behind a wife and five children.
