HALIFAX County, VA : Police identify driver, passenger in fatal single-vehicle Halifax County crash on Tuesday, 25th June 2019

Theresa A. Goetz, 27, of New Jersey has been identified as the passenger pronounced dead at the scene of a single-vehicle car crash in Halifax.

Virginia State Police say the driver, Thomas P. Doyle, 55, of Alton, Va., ran a 1988 Dodge pickup truck off the left side of Traynham Grove Road before over-correcting and going off the right side into a tree.

Doyle has been charged with DUI-Manslaughter, and was brought to Blue Ridge Regional Jail.

Both individuals wore seat belts at the time of the crash. The driver refused medical treatment at the scene.
