Oxnard ,CA :Two Children injured in Crash after being hit by car near East Elm Street on Friday morning ,April 3rd 2015

Two children were hurt Friday morning after being hit by a car in Oxnard, police said.

The accident occurred about 11 a.m. in the 400 block of East Elm Street, according to the Oxnard Police Department.

A 35-year-old Oxnard woman was driving west on Elm Street when the children walked into the street, and her car hit them, police said.

The children, 2- and 9-year-old Oxnard residents, were taken to Ventura County Medical Center, where they were treated for scrapes and bruises. The driver, who remained at the scene after the crash, was not hurt, police said.
