Saint Cloud,FL : St. Cloud man killed in crash on September, Thursday 7th 2017

A 62-year-old man was killed in a car crash in Osceola County on Thursday morning, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Melvin Sparkman of St. Cloud was traveling eastbound on Atlas Drive in Holopaw about 8 a.m., said Sgt. Kim Montes, an FHP spokeswoman. He didn't yield to a vehicle driving south on Holopaw Road, which struck Sparkman on the left side. The driver, 18-year-old Lacie Stark, was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.

Billy Sparkman, 55 — who was in the passenger seat — also suffered serious injuries. The crash remains under investigation.
