Two Navarre students were injured when a Santa Rosa County school bus was rear-ended by a vehicle Friday morning on High School Boulevard in Navarre.
Jud Crane, the Santa Rosa County School District Director of Purchasing and Contract Administration, said 28 students were on the bus when it was hit by a vehicle near Navarre High School.
Crane said one student on the bus complained of back pain but went to school. Crane said another student complained of neck pain and was taken by a parent for treatment. The bus was traveling east on High School Boulevard and stopped for traffic when the crash occurred at 8:50 a.m., according to a news release from the Florida Highway Patrol.
According to the release, a red Jeep Liberty driven by 17-year-old Katie McManus of Navarre did not stop and hit the back of the bus. McManus and her passenger, Joshua McManus, 15, also of Navarre, were taken to Fort Walton Beach Hospital for injuries, according to the FHP news release.
Katie McManus was cited for careless driving. The school bus was driven by Samantha Henderson, 26, of Navarre.
