A driver was killed Sunday evening after crashing into a tree following an attempted traffic stop on Johns Island.
Officials with the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) said deputies tried to stop a vehicle on Bohicket Road; however, they said the driver ended up colliding with a tree along the roadway.
It’s unclear what led to the stop but the sheriff’s office said the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
