Council Bluffs, IA : Three injured in rollover wreck on I-29 in Harrison County on Sunday, December 4th, 2016
Three people were injured in a two-vehicle wreck on Interstate 29 Sunday.
Tanner Harl, 25, Onawa, was northbound on I-29 near the 80-mile marker driving a 2004 Ford Explorer when he attempted to pass 45-year-old Hugo Ronaldo Corado-Urrutia of Syracuse, Nebraska, who was driving a 1997 Ford Ranger.
As Harl passed, his vehicle drifted into Corado-Urrutia’s lane and struck the Ranger, causing both drivers to lose control, according to the Iowa State Patrol.
Harl’s Explorer rolled and came to a rest on its roof in the center median. Corado-Urrutia’s Ranger spun around in the roadway and rolled, coming to a rest in the east ditch.
The wreck occurred around 2:12 p.m. Sunday.
A medical helicopter transported Harl to CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center for treatment.
Rescue units transported Corado-Urrutia and his passenger Edwin Otero-Chicas, 32, also of Syracuse, Nebraska, to CHI Health Missouri Valley Hospital.
An investigation into the wreck continues.
