Bethany, NY : Alyson Krzanak, 18, killed, 5 others injured in collision of car with tractor-trailer on Route 20 near Molasses Hill Road on Saturday morning, February 21, 2015
One person was killed in a car accident on Route 20 at Molasses Hill Road in Bethany early Saturday morning, according to the Genesee County Sheriff's Office.
Alyson Krzanak, 18, of Pembroke, was taken to Erie County Medical Center where she died from her injuries. According to police, Hannah Dibble, 21, also of Pembroke, was driving heading north on Molasses Hill Road with five passengers in her car, including Krzanak. She failed to yield the right of way at a stop sign to a tractor trailer that was heading east on Route 20. The car was hit by the tractor trailer and at least three of the passengers were ejected, police said.
Gabrielle Uzarowski, 21, was treated at the scene of the crash. Hannah Dibble, Felicia Fazzio, 21, of Darien and Krzanak were all taken to Erie County Medical Center for treatment of their injuries. According to police, Fazzio is currently in stable condition. The other passenger of the car, Brandon Danser, 21, of Batavia was taken to the University of Rochester Medical Center by Mercy Flight and is currently in guarded condition, investigators said. Jamie Scherer, 21, of Pembroke was taken to Wyoming County Community Hospital and then taken by Mercy Flight to University of Rochester Medical Center. He is currently in guarded condition, police said. The driver of the tractor trailer, Leonard Odums of Cuthburt, Georgia was not injured in the crash. The accident is under investigation.
