Butler County, PA : Motorcyclist killed in crash on U.S. Route 422 in Franklin Township on Friday evening, August 5, 2016

A motorcyclist from Prospect died Friday evening in a crash in Butler County, state police said.

Robert Pollock Jr., 45, was killed in the collision about 6 p.m. on U.S. Route 422 in Franklin Township.

Police said Mr. Pollock was travelling westbound on Route 422 in the area of Dick Road when a vehicle coming in the opposite direction attempted to make a left turn into a parking lot and struck him.

Mr. Pollock was separated from the motorcycle and died at the scene, according to police.
