Santa Fe, NM: 59 Years Old man charged with vehicular homicide for a crash that killed a 40-year-old woman at The Buffalo Thunder Casino on Friday, 14th November 2014
A New Mexico man has been charged with vehicular homicide for a crash that killed a 40-year-old woman.
Jimmy Griego, 59, was arrested Friday at The Buffalo Thunder Casino after investigators say he ran following the crash.
The Santa Fe Sheriff's Office says Griego had been driving recklessly and nearly hit several cars on northbound U.S. 84/285 in a white Ford Explorer before the crash, according to multiple calls made to Santa Fe County dispatch.
The sheriff's office says Celeste Maestas, 40, was killed in the crash.
Sheriff's deputies believe that Griego was on drugs at the time, but are waiting on a toxicology report to confirm that.
Griego has also been charged with felony DWI, meaning it's at least his fourth DWI charge. He was also charged with driving on a revoked license.
