Heber Springs, AR : 8 minors injured after school bus crash on Highway 5 north of Rosebud on Saturday, Oct 3, 2015

At approximately 12:40 AM today (Saturday, October 3, 2015) State Troopers of the Arkansas State Police Highway Patrol Division were called to the scene of a one vehicle crash involving a Heber Springs School Bus.

The bus, driven by Darren T. Gowen, had been traveling northbound along Highway 5 north of Rosebud when it left the roadway after striking a deer. The bus was returning to Heber Springs from Stuttgart.

Gowen was uninjured, however eight minor age individuals were transported to area hospitals in Heber Springs and Searcy, one of injured was later airlifted to Arkansas Children’s Hospital.

None of the injuries were initially reported to be life threatening.
