Nutley, NJ : 77-year-old struck, killed by van in hit-and-run crash in northern New Jersey on Saturday, November 15, 2014

An elderly woman was struck and killed by a van while trying to cross a street in northern New Jersey. Nutley police say the accident occurred around 11:40 a.m. Saturday in the area of Centre Street and Ravine Avenue. The 77-year-old victim was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead a short time later. Her name has not been released, pending notification of relatives. Police say the woman was struck by a dark-colored Ford Econoline van that fled the scene after the woman was hit. No other injuries were reported in the accident.
