Mansfield, OH : One person was dead, and two was injured after crash on Friday on August 15th 2014.
patient being transported in an ambulance is dead after the vehicle rolled over an embankment.
The accident happened on the I-71 exit ramp to State Route 13 on Friday around 11:45 p.m.
The ambulance drove off the left side of the exit ramp and struck a guardrail. The vehicle then traveled through the guardrail and over an embankment, rolling several times.
The patient, 56-year-old Michael Willis of Cleveland, was ejected from the ambulance and was pronounced dead at the scene.
James A. Phillips, a 30-year-old EMT from Garfield Heights, was with the patient in the back of the vehicle and was also ejected as the ambulance rolled.
Phillips was taken to OhioHealth MedCentral, along with the driver of the ambulance, 30-year-old Amber D. Brown of Cleveland.
Both of ambulance workers only sustained minor injuries.
