Driver injured in North Smithfield crash

North Smithfield police are investigating a late night accident in which one person was thrown from a vehicle.

It happened just before 11 p.m. Monday on Industrial Drive. Witnesses say it appeared the car rolled over.

At one point the person was trapped underneath the vehicle.

Accident reconstruction crews were at the scene.

The North Smithfield Fire department said one person was transported to Rhode Island Hospital.
