CHARLOTTE, NC : East Charlotte intersection closed due to deadly crash on Monday, 9th September 2024

A crash in east Charlotte left one man dead and one in custody.
The crash happened around 5 a.m. on Monday at the intersection of Hood Road and Plaza Road Extension, not far from Reedy Creek Elementary, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.
Two Ford trucks were found badly damaged at the scene. One of the drivers, Lee Staten, 57, was pronounced dead at the scene.
