Tacoma, WA : Three injured in head-on collision in Puyallup on Thursday, July 7, 2016

Puyallup police were investigating a head-on collision Thursday that seriously injured a woman and two others.

The crash occurred about 3:15 p.m. at the intersection of 12th Street Northwest and W. Stewart Avenue.

Investigators shut down the intersection while gathering evidence at the scene. They have not yet determined what caused the accident.

Injured were a woman driving a Honda, her male passenger and a man who was behind the wheel of a Chevrolet Blazer, Capt. Scott Engle said.

Central Pierce firefighters had to extricate all three from their vehicles.

The woman sustained the most serious injuries but all three were taken to area hospitals.
