Cody, WY : Man died and woman injured in a motorcycle crash on the Beartooth Highway north of Cody on Monday, Aug 17, 2015

A motorcycle driver died as a result of a crash north of Cody on Monday.
Matthew Wickel, 50, of Thayne, died at the scene about five miles south of the Montana border on the Beartooth Highway.
The crash happened at 2:50 p.m. at mile post 30 on US 212 as Wickel traveled west in rain and snow, the Wyoming Highway Patrol said. He lost control of the motorcycle, crossed the center line and went down a small hill on the south side of the highway.
He and his passenger, Dawn Patterson, 58, of Grand Blanc, Mich., were both thrown from the motorcycle during the crash.
Wickel sustained fatal injuries at the scene. Patterson was transported by helicopter ambulance to Billings. Neither Wickel nor Patterson was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
