Truck hit a tree in Blount County killed one person

Tennessee Highway Patrol confirmed a man died after his truck hit a tree in Blount County Friday afternoon.

State troopers said Bobby Holland, 56, of Maryville lost control of his vehicle on Big Elm Road in Maryville at about 4 p.m. The truck stuck a drainage ditch, spun back across the roadway and crashed into a tree head on.

The THP crash report said alcohol may have been a factor.
