Bradenton, FL : 40-year-old man died in motorcycle crash on U.S. 301 just past Ninth Street on Sunday, April 17, 2016

A 40-year-old man died Sunday when he lost control of his motorcycle.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol: Shortly before noon, the Sarasota resident drove north on U.S. 301 just past Ninth Street East in Bradenton. He failed to maintain control of his his 2013 Yamaha in the left lane and struck a median concrete barrier.

He was ejected from the cycle and struck a utility pole in the median. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.

Authorities will identity him after notifying next of kin.
