Whitefish Bay, WI : Motorcyclist traveling at a high rate of speed dies after striking vehicle on June 16th 2014

A 21-year-old motorcyclist died Monday night after he collided with a car in Whitefish Bay, police said.

The Milwaukee man was northbound on N. Oakland Ave. and traveling at a high rate of speed when his motorcycle collided about 7:29 p.m. with a car that was eastbound on E. Cumberland Ave., Whitefish Bay police stated in a news release.

The motorcyclist, who was not wearing a helmet, was seriously injured and was taken to Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa, where he died, police said.

The driver of the car, a 71-year-old Milwaukee man, was not injured.

The Wisconsin State Patrol was called in to conduct an accident investigation, Whitefish Bay police said.
