Nashville, TN : 87-year-old Jackie Scott died after motorcycle crash in south Nashville on Wednesday morning, March 16, 2016

Metro police said a moped rider was killed in a crash in south Nashville on Wednesday morning.

The wreck shut down Murfreesboro Pike near Nashboro Boulevard for hours, but all lanes have since reopened.

Police later identified the man killed as 87-year-old Jackie Scott.

According to police, Scott exited the Kroger gas station and was traveling south on Murfreesboro Pike when he reportedly made a sudden lane change into the path of a Honda CRV driven by 30-year-old Heather Davis.

Davis told police she was unable to avoid the crash. Scott, who was wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other injuries were reported in the crash. Police said there was no indication of alcohol or dug involvement.

There is no word if anyone will faces charges in the crash.
