Boca Raton, FL : Broward woman, 61, killed in suburban Boca crash on Wednesday, 15th January, 2020
A 61-year-old Broward County woman was killed Wednesday in a single-car crash in suburban Boca Raton, authorities said.
Florencia Sunga, of Pompano Beach, died at Delray Medical Center from injuries sustained when she crashed her vehicle into a tree on Boca West Drive, according to a Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office crash report.
The crash happened shortly after 4:30 p.m. in the 20100 block of Boca West Drive. Authorities say Sunga was driving east in an inside lane and approaching a curve when she drove on the grassy median.
As she continued across the median, the front passenger corner of her Kia Forte struck a tree, according to the crash report. The impact caused the vehicle to rotate clockwise before it came to a stop.
Sunga died about 30 minutes after the crash, the sheriff’s report said.
