BRANDON, FL : Driver, passenger killed in Brandon Parkway crash on Tuesday, 16th July 2019

Two people were killed early Tuesday after a pickup truck and SUV collided at the intersection of Brandon Parkway and Town Center Boulevard, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Just before 5 a.m., a 2016 Chevy Silverado driven by Michael Iacob, 26, of Tampa, and a Nissan SUV entered the intersection "simultaneously" and crashed, troopers said.

The SUV erupted into flames, and its driver, who was not named by troopers pending next of kin notification, later died at Brandon Regional Hospital. A passenger in the SUV, who also was not named, died at the scene. Iacob had minor injuries.
