A car crashed into a horse-drawn buggy carrying an Amish family in Maryland early Saturday, injuring nine people, including five children.
The buggy was traveling on the westbound shoulder of Route 6 in Mechanicsville when it turned left in front of a 2000 Nissan Altima, also heading west. The car slammed in to the buggy, knocking it on its side.
All seven passengers — two parents and their five children — were thrown from the buggy. Officers responded to the crash about 12:25 a.m. and found the buggy overturned on the side of the road.
