DECATUR, IL : Decatur Police respond to fatal motorcycle accident on Monday, 27h May 2024

Decatur Police Officers were dispatched to the intersection of N. Main St. (Business Hwy 51) and McKinley Ave. reference a motorcycle accident at 6:45 a.m. on Monday.

The initial investigation revealed that a motorcycle was traveling south on Main St. approaching McKinley. The motorcycle left the east side of the road and struck a utility pole.

The operator of the motorcycle continued to travel southbound and struck a second utility pole. The operator of the motorcycle was a 22-year-old male and Decatur resident.
