Poughkeepsie, NY : 28-year-old motorcyclist died after crash on Route 9 in town of Poughkeepsie on Sunday, September 25, 2016

A 28-year-old motorcyclist died after he collided with a car that was entering Route 9, the town police department said Tuesday.

Police said Brian Freer, of the city of Poughkeepsie, was killed in the crash, which happened at 5:47 p.m. Sunday north of Spring Road, which forms the northern boundary of the Poughkeepsie Galleria mall.

The car, a 2011 BMW 328i being driven by an 18-year-old female from Cypress, Texas, was “exiting a local business” onto Route 9 when the crash occurred, police said. They did not provide the driver’s name.

Emergency responders performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation on Freer at the scene before he was taken to Vassar Brothers Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 6:29 p.m., police said.
