Pasco County, FL : Man was dead early Sunday when he lost control of his vehicle on U.S. 41 on August 24th 2014
A man who had a medical emergency while driving on Highway 41, causing a three-car accident, is dead, officials said.
A Land O'Lakes man was killed early Sunday when he lost control of his vehicle on U.S. 41 in Pasco County, drove off of the road and landed in a retention pond, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Michael Leroy Davis, 55, of Land O'Lakes, was driving northbound toward Leonard Road in the center lane when he lost control of his Ford E250, which spun onto the east shoulder. The vehicle hit a chain-link fence, a culvert, then a tree. It then overturned and landed in a retention pond.
A fence post that broke with the impact then flew into the road and crashed into the hood of a second vehicle and the passenger side of a third. No one in either car was injured.
Passersby took Davis out of the vehicle. He was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital North where he died.
