Lancaster County, SC : Four people injured after two pickup trucks collide on Highway 200 in Lancaster County on Friday morning, March 6, 2015

Four people were seriously injured and had to be airlifted to the hospital after an early morning crash in Lancaster County.

The crash happened along Highway 200 and neighbors say it's not the first time.

"I was kinda sleeping in a little and I recall hearing a loud boom," one neighbor told WBTV.

Another neighbor, Brett Davis, said the sound was unmistakable. It's not the first time he's heard the violent boom of cars colliding just yards from his home.

"I've owned this piece of property for eight years now," Davis said. "This is the fourth accident that's been out here."

The crash happened just after 8 a.m. Friday morning. Troopers say two pickups traveling in opposite directions hit head-on. Three people were inside one truck and two in the other.

Davis was also one of the first people to run up and try to help.

Four medical helicopters transported four of the people from the scene to Carolina's Medical Center in Charlotte. One other person was taken by ground ambulance to Springs Memorial Hospital in Lancaster.

Troopers haven't said what caused it, but Davis thinks he might have an idea.

"[This area] is at the crest of a hill and traffic coming from either side - it just makes it incredibly difficult to see."
