Charlotte, NC : Multi-vehicle accident closes I-77 at Tyvola Road on Sunday night, October 19, 2014

An accident on Interstate 77 south closed the interstate on Sunday night near Tyvola Road. Multiple cars were involved. Medic transported eight patients to Carolinas Medical Center with minor injuries. According to the Department of Transportation, the interstate is expected to reopen around 11:45 p.m. Motorists are being directed off the interstate onto exit 5, Tyvola Road.
