Two children were injured in two separate hit-and-run car crashes — one involving a school bus — that Erie police are investigating late Wednesday afternoon.
The school bus accident was reported at about 3:15 p.m. at the intersection of East 25th and German streets. One child was taken by EmergyCare ambulance to UPMC Hamot for treatment of minor injuries, authorities said.
Another child was a passenger on the school bus at the time of the accident, and was not injured, police said.
Police are searching for the male driver, who abandoned a green 2005 Chevrolet TrailBlazer at the scene and fled on foot, investigators said.
The other hit-and-run accident occurred Wednesday at 2:40 p.m. near West 29th and Liberty streets, police said.
A child was struck by one of the two vehicles involved, and taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Police and authorities were unable to provide further information about the injured children in either accident.
