New York State Police have identified the driver killed in a rollover crash on Interstate 81 near Syracuse.

Troopers identified the driver as 38-year-old Jean Edy Silaire, from West Babylon on Long Island.

State police say the truck was traveling north around 6:40 a.m. Friday when the vehicle went off the road. The truck then overturned and rolled several hundred feet before landing in the median and coming to rest on a guide rail in the Onondaga County town of Lafayette, just south of Syracuse.

Police say Silaire was ejected and suffered severe head trauma and a broken right arm. He died after being taken to a Syracuse hospital.

The cause of the crash is being investigated.
