GRAVES COUNTY, KY : 2 injured in semi crash on KY 564 near Farmington in Graves Co. on Tuesday, 19th September 2023

Two people were injured in a semi crash on KY 564 near Farmington, Kentucky.

According to the Graves County Sheriff’s Office, they were dispatched to a semi rollover on KY 564 about 2 miles south of Farmington around 3:40 p.m. on Tuesday, September 19. They found a semi truck and trailer on its passenger side, blocking the road in both directions.

Deputies say the driver of the semi, 34-year-old Steven Leake, of Memphis, Tenn., was driving a 2017 Freightliner semi southbound on KY 564 when the right rear tires of the semi trailer dropped off the right shoulder of KY 564. Leake tried to steer the trailer back onto the road, but overcorrected to the left, which caused the semi to cross the northbound lane of KY 564, run off the left shoulder, hit an earth embankment and some trees and then roll over onto is passenger side.

Leake reportedly had a minor injury to his shoulder, but deputies say he refused transport to a hospital. A 33-year-old passenger in the semi received a minor head injury, but they say he also refused transport to a hospital.
