Brevard County ,FL :Boy, 11, dies in Brevard County ATV crash on Saturday , June 27th 2015

An 11-year-old Ocala boy was killed Saturday evening in an ATV crash in the Brevard County Game Refuge in Mims, according to the Florida Hoghway Patrol.Derwin Figeroa, 24, of Kissimmee, was driving an ATV in a wooded area near Rose Marie Place and Blounts Ridge Road, not far from County Road 5A and Interstate 95, said Sgt. Kim Montes, an FHP spokeswoman.At around 6 p.m., Figeroa lost control of the ATV for an unknown reason and it overturned, killing his 11-year-old passenger, Juan Melendez, the spokeswoman said.Melendez was brought to Parrish Medical Center in Titusville, where he was pronounced dead.The crash remains under investigation.
