Portland, OR : Man charged with DUII after crashing into Broadway Bridge sidewalk Monday morning August 10th 2015

Police have arrested a 37-year-old man for DUII after he drove onto the Broadway Bridge sidewalk, crashing into scaffolding Monday morning.
The crash was reported around 9:45 a.m. The bridge closed to car traffic just a couple hours prior for a week-long maintenance and painting project.
Officers at the scene said the driver went past the “bridge closed” signs and made it down the north sidewalk before hitting paint scaffolding.
Jesse Joe Allen, 37, was arrested on charges of DUII, reckless endangering workers and reckless driving.
