PITTSTON, PA : Vehicle lands on roof after crashing on Route 27 in Pittston on Wednesday, 11th July 2018

Distracted driving was to blame for an SUV landing on its roof after crashing Wednesday morning on Route 27 in Pittston, sending the driver and her two passengers to the hospital for treatment of injuries, police said.

Maine State Police Trooper Mikael Nunez said the driver, a 54-year-old woman from Farmington, was distracted as she was driving north on Route 27 and went off the road into a ditch. Nunez would not elaborate about how the driver was distracted.

Her vehicle struck an embankment, went airborne and landed on its roof on the northbound side of the road.
