LOUISVILLE, KY : Authorities identify Louisville man killed in crash in California neighborhood on Tuesday, November 22nd, 2016

The Jefferson County Coroner's Office has released the identity of a man killed in a car crash in the California neighborhood early Tuesday morning.

That man has been identified as 50-year-old Carl H. Russell, Jr.

Police say the crash was reported just before 1:00 a.m. near the intersection of S. 12th Street and W. Kentucky Street.

LMPD says the SUV was traveling on S. 12th Street when, for an unknown reason, it ran off the road and hit a utility pole, then crossed St. Catherine and hit a building.

Russell, the driver of the SUV, died at the scene. The coroner's office says he died of multiple blunt force injuries. We do not know what caused the driver to crash.
