One person was killed when his ultralight aircraft crashed in a field in Wilson County Saturday morning.

Authorities told it happened just after 11 a.m. on Edwards Road in Norene.

No details were immediately released about what caused the hang glider accident.

Neighbors said the victim, who is believed to be a man in his mid 40's, was part of a group that flew out from a nearby airport.

The FAA has been called to the location.
