WALTON COUNTY, FL : Man killed in crash identified on Friday, December, 29th 2017

The pedestrian killed during Friday’s night’s crash on U.S. 331 has been identified as 43-year-old Brandon Robert Cordova of Niceville.

According to an update from Florida Highway Patrol, Cordova’s next of kin had been notified.

The crash occurred around 8:40 p.m. on Dec. 29 after 60-year-old Alabama resident Robert Thomas was traveling south in a BMW on the outside lane of U.S. 331 and struck Cordova who was walking in the outside southbound lane.

Cordova came to final rest in the southbound right turn lane of U.S. 331, just north of Carol Drive, the FHP report said. Thomas came to a controlled stop at the corner of U.S. 331 and Carol Drive facing south.

Cordova was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash by Walton County Fire Rescue.
