Las Vegas, NV : Pedestrian dead in crash on Desert Inn and Maryland Parkway on Monday evening, December 21, 2015

A pedestrian is dead after a crash this evening near East Desert Inn Road and South Maryland Parkway, according to Metro Police.

The crash was reported about 5:40 p.m. near Aztec Way and Desert Inn, and the pedestrian, whose age and gender were not immediately available, has died, Lt. Jeff Goodwin said.

Police are asking drivers to avoid the area, and Desert Inn is expected to be closed eastbound and westbound in the area, Goodwin said.

The driver of the vehicle is cooperating with police, and no other serious injuries have been reported, he said.
