Hans Bollenbacher, a Pasco County sheriff's deputy, was driving north on U.S. 19 and hit the left side of Vatalaro's vehicle when it entered the intersection. Bollenbacher, 30, and his 19-year-old passenger Tyler Hammelman, both of New Port Richey, sustained minor injuries, according to an FHP report.
