Harrison County, TX : Man was pronounced dead Monday morning following a head on crash on September 8th 2014
A Louisiana man was pronounced dead this morning following a head on crash in Harrison County.
According to Justice of the Peace Precinct 1 Judge Megan Pinson, the accident took place around 5 a.m. on FM 9 North. Trooper Jean Dark stated an SUV headed north veered into the southbound lane, colliding with a truck.
The truck caught fire, but the driver was rescued and flown to a Shreveport hospital in critical condition. He was identified as Damon Reeves, 38, of Waskom. His current condition is unknown.
The driver of the SUV was identified as Kelly Pace, 49, of Bethany, Louisiana. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 6:13 a.m. by Judge Pinson. The body has been sent to Tyler for autopsy.
Dark said both drivers were wearing seat belts.
Next of kin has been notified of the wreck.
The Department of Public Safety also responded to the crash.
