St. George, SC : Man arrested, charged with felony DUI after fatal wreck on I-26 on Sunday morning, March 26, 2017
Saint George, South Carolina
One person has died in a vehicular crash on I-26, according to officials.
A 46-year-old man has been arrested in connection with this wreck.
Zebulon A. Wright has been charged with Felony DUI Involving Death and Reckless Homicide.
The wreck occurred at approximately 2:30 a.m. on Sunday morning near the 186 mile marker on I-26 eastbound.
Wright was driving a 2006 Buick, when he struck a 2004 Ford Explorer and caused the Explorer to leave the roadway, officials say.
The Explorer was propelled over the guardrail as a result of the wreck.
A nine year old girl was killed when she was ejected from the Explorer, the Dorchester County Coroner’s Office said.
The child was transported to Trident Regional Medical Center where she died at 3:27 a.m.
Wright has been booked in the Dorchester County Detention Center
The South Carolina Highway Patrol and Dorchester County Coroner’s Office are still investigating.
