Cottage Grove, MN : Bloomington couple killed in Cottage Grove crash on Highway 61 in Cottage Grove on Saturday, 11th August 2018

Two people died in a collision on Highway 61 in Cottage Grove Sunday evening that involved a motorcycle and passenger car.

The collision occurred on northbound Highway 61 at 120th Street when the driver of a 1996 Saturn tried to turn to eastbound 120th Street and pulled in front of a motorcycle, which was in the left lane, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

The motorcycle hit the front passenger side of the vehicle.

The driver and passenger on the motorcycle, Randy L. Metzler, 51, and Kay M. Metzler, 56, both of Bloomington, were ejected from the motorcycle in the crash and were fatally injured. Neither were wearing helmets.
