Omaha, NE : 59 year-old man dies after crashing car into pole on Tuesday, January 27, 2015

Carl Goodburn, 59, of Omaha was killed after crashing his car into a wooden power pole.

Medics were dispatched to 108th Street and Ellison Avenue at 3:50 p.m. Tuesday for a reported car accident.

The investigation revealed that a blue 2002 Ford Taurus was heading southbound on 108th Street when it crossed into the northbound lane, left the roadway and struck a wooden power pole.

A citizen performed CPR on Goodburn until medics arrived.

Goodburn was transported to Nebraska Medical Center in critical condition, where he passed away.

Neither speed nor alcohol are believed to be factors.

108th Street is closed from Military to Ellison avenues due to the power pole needing to be replaced by Omaha Public Power District.
