Tulsa, OK : Mayes County crash kills Vinita woman on Friday, December, 22nd 2017

A Vinita woman was killed Friday when the SUV she was riding in struck a tree in Mayes County, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports.

Susan R. Marceleno, 62, was a passenger in a 2014 Chevrolet Suburban that was eastbound on Oklahoma 28 west of Adair when it went off the roadway and struck a tree about 3:15 p.m. Friday, according to OHP troopers.

Marceleno was pinned in the vehicle for nearly two hours. She was pronounced dead at the scene from massive injuries, according to the OHP.

The driver, Lois G. Cox, 75, of Vinita, was taken to St. John’s Medical Center in Tulsa in stable condition with internal injuries.
