Baton Rouge, LA : A 23-year-old Baton Rouge woman and her 2-year-old son died on Monday, October, 30th 2017
A 23-year-old Baton Rouge woman and her 2-year-old son died Monday after she crashed head-on into a tractor-trailer on Airline Highway, according to Baton Rouge police.
Wallacea Swazer was driving a Ford Mustang in an "erratic and reckless manner" northbound in the 7700 block of Airline Highway before she crossed the median several times and hit a 2007 Freightliner tractor-trailer, police spokesman Sgt. Don Coppola Jr. said.
Swazer died on the scene. Carter Northern, 2, later died in a hospital. Coppola said investigators believe Northern, who is Swazer's son, was not properly restrained in the vehicle.
A 19-year-old man who was also in the Mustang was hospitalized with moderate injuries. The 50-year-old driver of the Freightliner was not injured.
Police continue to investigate.
