Hoover, IN : 3 juveniles injured in crash west of Hoover Saturday night, October 29, 2016
Three juveniles were injured in a single-vehicle crash west of Hoover Saturday night, according to a Cass County Sheriff's deputy.
First responders were dispatched to the crash on 300 North just east of 825 East at 10:20 p.m. Oct. 29, Cass County Sheriff's Deputy Brenton McDonald said.
A 16-year-old male was eastbound on 300 North in a 1990 Chevrolet pickup truck when he went off the south side of the road before over-correcting and going off the north side of the road, McDonald said. McDonald went on to say the truck rolled at least once before crashing into the woods off the north side of the road, landing on its tires.
"Speed was a factor in the crash," McDonald said.
A 14-year-old female was sitting in the middle of the truck's front seat and a 12-year-old male was on the far right of the front seat, McDonald said.
The 14-year-old female suffered a laceration to her face and a possible head injury, the 12-year-old male possibly suffered a broken arm and the 16-year-old male reported pain in his back, according to McDonald.
McDonald said all three were transported to Logansport Memorial Hospital, where Samaritan Medical Transport airlifted the 14-year-old female and 16-year-old male to Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne.
All the victims are from the Logansport area and their family members were notified, McDonald said.
McDonald said the victims reported they were wearing their seat belts at the time of the crash.
Twelve Mile first responders and Prompt Ambulance Central also responded, McDonald said.
