INDIANAPOLIS, IN : 1 dead in I-465 traffic accident on city’s southeast side on Wednesday, 25th November, 2020

A woman died after being hit by a car late Wednesday night on the southeast side.

According to Indiana State Police, the woman’s car had stalled on westbound I-465 near Beech Grove. Several 911 callers said a vehicle hit the woman and then left the scene. It happened around 11:30 p.m.

When state troopers arrived, they found the woman lying in the road. She was unresponsive and pronounced dead at the scene.

ISP said the woman had pulled to the shoulder of the road because her vehicle was disabled. She walked across the westbound lanes and then returned to her car; that’s when another vehicle hit her.

After the initial collision, several other vehicles struck the woman, police said.

The incident remains under investigation.
