Montgomery, AL : Pedestrian dies after being struck by vehicle in west Montgomery on Monday, November 24, 2014

A 31-year-old woman was killed on Monday after being hit by a vehicle while crossing Ashley Road in Montgomery, according to officer Denise Barnes. Alma Artez, of Montgomery, was hit by a Chrysler PT Cruiser around 9:35 p.m. after entering the northbound lane of Ashley Road between Western Boulevard and Swan Street. Artez was taken to a local hospital, where she later was pronounced dead. The driver of the Chrysler was uninjured.
